Two more safety awards!

Gribbins Insulation recently received two workplace safety awards, adding to a long list of citations recognizing the company’s commitment to workplace safety and ongoing safety training.
On February 20, Gribbins was honored with the Indiana Governor’s Workplace Safety Award for Internal Education and Outreach in Construction (medium-sized company). It is the third time in four years Gribbins has received the award; each time thIN Governor's Photoe award was presented for a different safety category.
Last year, Gribbins created and implemented a new monthly safety and health training program that supplements additional safety training meetings held each month on specific topics such as fall protection, aerial work platforms, confined spaces and fire protection and prevention.
Gribbins’s Governor’s Workplace Safety Award was announced at the annual Safety and Health Conference and Exposition held at the Indiana Conference Center in Indianapolis. The award was presented by Indiana Department of Labor Commissioner Rick J. Ruble.
“These companies represent the best of the best,” Ruble said at the event. “They demonstrate a commitment not only to protecting their employees, but also to ensuring employees understand the importance of workplace safety and health. The department is proud to honor these innovative companies.”
Accepting the award from Commissioner Ruble were Adam Brown, Gribbins Area Manager; Jake Gribbins, Gribbins Safety Coordinator and Trevor Atherton, Gribbins Safety Manager.  A list of all winners can be found here.

On February 24, Gribbins Insulation received the Marathon Refinery General Manager’s Excellence Award for the tenth consecutive year. This award recognized best safety practices by Gribbins employees who are stationed at the Marathon Petroleum CMarathon Photoompany Illinois Refining Division in Robinson, Illinois, and who assist in overseeing safety practices and safety training at the Robinson plant.
The Marathon Awards were given in two categories: High Achievement in Safety and General Manager’s Excellence Award. The General Manager’s Excellence Award is given to the top performers in workplace safety. This year there were 14 Marathon Award winners. Gribbins was one of only four companies to earn the General Manager’s Excellence Award.
The Marathon award was presented at its annual Contractor Safety Award presentation in Robinson. At the event, these Gribbins employees and managers accepted the award: Randy Littlejohn, Gribbins Safety Coordinator; Jason Hires, Gribbins General Foreman; J.D. Smothers, Gribbins vice president; Kevin Bogard, General Manager, Marathon Petroleum Company Illinois Refining Division; and company president Jim Gribbins.
