History

Respected Leader Among Specialty Contractors

For over 35 years, our team has worked diligently to earn—and maintain—our reputation as insulation experts. Since 1985, our founder, Jim Gribbins, has fostered the company’s success by focusing on the core values of integrity, safety, quality, and service. Today, Gribbins’ management team leads the organization’s growth with decisions reflecting these core values. In 2021, we responded to our customers’ requests by starting a scaffolding division.

Our Beginning as an Insulation Contractor

On April 1, 1985, Gribbins Insulation opened for business near downtown Evansville, Indiana. Our entire operation consisted of founder Jim Gribbins as estimator, his wife, Leslee, as receptionist, and three insulators.

Since then, we have experienced tremendous growth. Throughout our five locations in Indiana and Kentucky and Illinois, about 50 employees work in our offices, and we average about 200 insulators in the field. Within the past 35+ years, we have completed projects in Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Ohio, Kansas, Texas, West Virginia, Florida, Michigan, and Alabama, as well as the Bahamas. Our participation in industry associations has introduced us to a broad network of industry support, and we are proud to be the largest insulation contractor in the Tri-State area.

Elite Environmental was added as a sister company in 2018, offering abatement and restoration services to our customers. In 2021, we hired an experienced scaffolding manager to run a scaffolding division under Gribbins Insulation.

Construction Safety Program Contributes to Our Success, And Yours

The Gribbins Insulation safety program has earned more than 50 safety awards since 2010.  Founder and President, Jim Gribbins is passionate about protecting our employees—and yours. He states, “Our core values – integrity, safety, quality, and service – all have a common thread: Safety. Every team member at Gribbins Insulation, including the person we hired yesterday and the person we may hire tomorrow, must place safety in front of all actions. There is absolutely no task that is so important or necessary that we might consider sacrificing safety, to even the slightest degree, in an effort to perform the task.”
